Dear Members,
As we reflect on what has been a successful, although somewhat heart-breaking season, thoughts begin to move to what is undoubtedly an exciting time ahead for the Club.
When presented with the opportunity to purchase the naming rights for Somerset County Cricket Ground, an easy commercial decision was mostly led by heart.
As a chap born and educated in Taunton, cricket has played a significant role in my own life. Having found cricket at a young age, and played for Somerset through various age groups, my short lived career culminated in representing Somerset Second XI.
Despite not being as successful as one would have hoped and subsequently moving into the world of finance, my relationship with Somerset County Cricket Club has continued over the years as a devoted supporter.
The opportunity to support Somerset over the next five years is of course one we felt privileged to embrace. The Club, under considered leadership, continues to go from strength to strength and in the words of recently departed Chris Rogers, I think there are some special times ahead.
We are both proud and excited to be sharing these with you and we wish Somerset every success in the years to come.
