Over £10,000 raised at the Cooper Associates Foundation Charity Golf Day

The Cooper Associates Foundation proudly hosted its annual Charity Golf Day at Mendip Springs Golf Club on Thursday 2 October, bringing together 20 teams of four for a day of competitive fun, all in support of the Foundation’s charitable causes.

The tournament saw 20 teams of 4 players compete in a four-ball better-ball format tournament with a series of mini competitions including longest drive, nearest the pin, and beat the pro with ex-Somerset cricketer turned professional golfer, Peter Trego.

After four hours on the course, our congratulations went to the Somerset County Cricket Club team, who emerged victorious.

The golf was followed by a sit-down meal and an exclusive Q&A with past-and-present Somerset cricketers Jos Buttler, Peter Trego, Jack Leach and Tom Banton. Guests then enjoyed a charity raffles and auction.

Our thanks go to The Jockey Club, The Crescent Clinic, Augustus, The Manchester United Foundation, Somerset Cricket Club, Gloucester Rugby Club, Jos Buttler, Jack Leach and Tom Banton for their generous prize donations.

We would also like to thank Talking Stick Digital, Maitland Walker and AC Mole for their hole sponsorship.

Speaking on the success of the day, James Regan, Cooper Associates Foundation Champion, commented; “It was fantastic to see so many teams coming together in support of the Foundation. The Foundation sits at the heart of the Cooper Associates Group values, and we are so grateful to everyone who contributed both on and off the course. Special thanks to Mendip Springs Golf Club for hosting such a brilliant event.”

Making a Brilliant Difference

The Cooper Associates Foundation supports children and young people facing illness, disability or other disadvantages, as well as other local causes in need. Recent projects include:

  • The installation of a Safe Play Trim Trail at Lyngford Park primary School, a specialist apparatus which helps to improve the strength, stamina, and problem-solving of the children.
  • Providing a bionic arm to Brodie, a 7-year-old born without a hand, giving him greater independence and opportunities for the future.

Since its inception in 2019, the Foundation has raised over £150,000 and supported more than 45 causes.

The Foundation continues to seek out growing charities and organisations that could benefit from its support. To find out more or get involved, please head over to our website.
